    that’s not what the emotional hardcore scene was about at all…

    Rites of Spring was certainly a far less abrasive bands than their other hardcore contemporaries, but they were still agressive, and as it stands now Emotional Hardcore is pretty much the most agressive form of hardcore still being played today. Just look at Orchid. That shit’ll bust your balls.

  9. 4izzleDizzle Says:

    @TashinAAA Nope.

    @TashinAAA Nope.
    The trend isnt emotional…thats not what it stands for…
    it stands for emotional hardcore.
    and it is a trend…it was supposed to be the non violent way to express the motions that the hardcore bands were singing about.

    Who cares man, …
    Who cares man, whatever it is, can you people just appreciate music for just being music? Music is amazing, maybe not to you or the next person but i love it all for what its worth. To stur up emotions. All music is( Emo). it all sturs up some sort of (emo)tion alright??!?! what your talking about is just a trend. so stop with all the trends it doesnt even matter.

    @teambritzaribal – wat?

    @TheyDeysiRae – They’re definitely not the grandfathers of emo, the genre was preceded by bands 10 years before SDRE.

  14. TheDeysiRae Says:

    SDRE isn’t pop, but …
    SDRE isn’t pop, but they are kinda the Grandfathers of emo, which I hate a great deal. They aren’t Alt or Grunge at all, the styles in music and lyrics differ greatly.

  15. teambritzaribal Says:

    suppose to be they …
    suppose to be they influence by the nirvana but their genre right to the hardcore and indie to form emo!!!!its riff totaly not incorporate in heavy metal…

  16. Nizzemanden Says:

    its also worth to mention that this band isnt as emo as the other “real emo” bands around today, they are way more grunge or alt. rockish.

    There’s ALOT of Emo bands nowadays, they’re just not as popular as this band.

    oh my god i was 3 when this song came out… and i can still remember them like it was yesterday.. strangely my favorite band at that tiny child age was green day, with insomniac and dookie. (due to the face that i have older brothers) you could thumbsdown this comment for that, i encourage it.

    Still can recall the first time I saw this video on 120 mins. Still have this record and it can always take me back to that wonderful time in the mid 90s emo indie scene. Thanks!

  25. Grunge00125 Says:

    depends on what …
    depends on what kind of pop. for instance: SDRE has a very poppyish sound(well for now, back then it wasn’t considered pop tho) but when they made this song, very few bands were doing this type of music thus it was not the opinion of the masses. Now it is, but back in the early to mid 90s, this was the oppposite of what the masses were thinking.
