The man and his family inherited two 40-year-old trailers, along with nearly $1,000 in annual property taxes — despite inhabitable conditions due to a leaky roof, black mold, pet odors, etc. Couldn’t sell them and no one would take them for free, but the taxes were unrelenting. The only way to eliminate the taxes was to demolish the properties.
